July 29, 2003- Nigeria Satellite,Nig SAT- 1 was launched into space at the Military Base of Russia at 7:12 am Nigerian Time.
Many years passed. Noah's sons had lots of children. And their children grew up and had more children. Soon there were many people on the earth.
One of these persons was a great grandson of Noah named Nim'rod. He was a bad man who hunted and killed both animals and men.
Nim'rod also made himself a king to rule over other people.
God did not like Nim'rod.
All the people at that time spoke one language. Nim'rod wanted to keep them all together so that he could rule them. So do you know what he did? He told the people to build a city and a big tower in it. This is the picture.
God was not pleased with this building. God wanted the people to move out and live all over the earth. But the people said:_ Come on! Let's build a city and a tower so high that it's top will reach into the heaven's. Then we will be famous!' The people wanted honor for themselves, not for God.
So God made the people stop building the tower.Do you know how he did it? By suddenly causing people to speak different languages, instead of just one. No longer did the builders understand one another.
This is why their city came to be called Ba' bel, or Babylon, meaning " Confusion."
The people now began to move away from Babylon.Groups of persons who spoke the same language went to live together in other parts of the earth.
Genesis 10:1,8-10
Outside the ark,the people went about their life the same as before.The still did not believe that the flood would come. They must have laughed more than ever. But they soon stopped laughing.
All of a sudden water began to fall. It poured down from the sky as when you pour water from a bucket. Noah had been right! But it was too late now for anybody else to get into the ark. The door had been closed tight by God.
Soon all the low ground was covered. The water became like big river. It pushed over trees and rolled around big stones, and made a lot of noise. The people were afraid. The climbed up to higher ground. Oh, how they wished they had listened to Noah and gotten into the ark when the door was still open for them! But now it was too late.
The water kept getting higher and higher. For 40 days and 40 nights the water poured out of the sky. It rose up the sides of the mountains, and soon even the tallest mountains were covered.
So just as God had said,all the people and animals outside the ark got died. But everyone inside was safe.
Noah and his sons had done a good job building the ark. The water lifted it up, and it floated right on top of the water. Then one day, after the rain stopped falling,the sun began to shine.
What a sight it was! There was just one big ocean everywhere. And the only thing that could be seen was the ark floating on top. The Giants were gone now. No more would they be around to hurt people. All of them had died, along with their mothers and the rest of the bad people.
If someone were walking toward you and he was as tall as the ceiling in your house, what would you think?
That person would be a giant! At one time there really were Giants on the earth. The Bible shows that their fathers were angels from heaven.
Remember, the bad angel Satan was busy making trouble. He was even trying to get God's angels to be bad. In time, some of these angels started to listen to Satan. They stopped the work that God had for them to do in heaven. And they came down to earth and made human bodies for themselves. Do you know why?
The Bible says that it is because these sons of God saw the pretty women on earth and wanted to live with them. So they came to earth and married these women. The Bible says that this was wrong, because God made the angels to live in heaven.
When the angels and their wives had babies, these babies were different. At first they may not have looked very different. But they kept growing bigger and bigger, and getting stronger and stronger, until they became Giants.
These Giants were bad. And because they were so big and strong,they would hurt people. They tried to force everyone to be bad like themselves.
E'NOCH had died, but there was one man on Earth now who was good. This man's name was Noah. He always did what God wanted him to do.
One day God told Noah that the time had come for him to destroy all bad people. But God was going to save Noah,his family and many of the animals. Let's see how God did this.
Genesis 6:1-8
Look at Cain and Abel now. The have both grown up. Cain has become a farmer.
He grows grains and fruits and vegetables.Abel has become a keeper of sheep. He likes to take care of little lambs. They grow up into big sheep, and so Abel soon has a whole flock of sheep to watch over.
One day Cain and Abel bring a gift to God. Cain brings some food he has grown. And Abel brings the very best sheep he has. God is pleased with Abel and his gift. But he is not pleased with Cain and his gift. Do you know why?
It is not just that Abel gift is better than Cain's. It is because Abel is a good man. He loves God and his brother. But Cain is bad; he does not love his brother.
So Good tells Cain that he should change his ways. But Cain does not listen. He is very angry because God liked Abel better.
So Cain says to Abel,'Let us go over the field.'There, when they are all alone,Cain hits his brother Abel. He hits him so hard that he kills him. Wasn't that a terrible thing for Cain to do?
Even though Abel died,God still remembers him. Abel was good, and God never forgets a person like that.
In October 1,1960 Nigeria gained her independent from Britain; Tafawa Belewa became the Prime Minister, and Nnamdi Azikiwe became the President.
In October 1,1963 Nigeria severed it's remaining ties to Britain, and the Nigerian first Republic was born.
In December 1,1964 the first civilian to civilian national election.Reaching January 15,1966 Nigeria's first coup deposed the Nigerian first Republic; Prime Minister Tafawa Belewa, was assassinated along with the premier of Northern Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello, and the Finance Minister, Festus Okotie-Eboh.
In January 16,1966 The Federal Military Government is formed, with General Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi as the Head of State and Supreme Commander of the Federal Republic.
July 29,1966 A counter coup by military officers of Northern extraction, deposed the Federal Military Government; General Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi was assassinated along with Adekunle Fajuyi, Military Governor of Western Region.General Yakubu Gowon became the Head of State.
In 1967 Ethnoreligious violence between Igbo Christians, and Hausa/ Fulani Muslim in Eastern and Northern Nigeria, triggered amigration of the Igbos back to the east.
The wife needs to find a time when she can sit down with her husband and talk with him about your need for better communication.Be very respectful.Say something like:
"Darling, sometimes I feel lonely.I feel like you and I are becoming strangers to each other. I'm not saying it's your fault.
I think both of us need to take the effort to build our communication."
Choose a good time for saying that to your husband.
Don't say it when he is tired or hungry.Wait until he is relaxed, and in the quiet place where the two of you can be alone and discuss freely.
Will that discussion change your husband into a good communication? Hopefully it will help,but perhaps he will still not communicate very well.
The wife should remember this: You must love and respect your husband even if he doesn't communicate well.
You should also remember this: You are not perfect, and your husband has the job of loving you alone with your weakness.
While waiting for the bus,Ruth remembered, "Abel scolded me this y, and he seemed very unloving."
She felt hurt.The hurt was small.Abel had not shouted; yet his voice seemed cold and bitter.
As she continued thinking about it, the hurt grew.She remembered other times when he had hurt her.
Finally she asked herself, " What should I do about this hurt? If I try to hide it,my communication with Abel this evening will be just half hearted.Under the surface I will still feel hurt.
Perhaps I should wait for Abel to say, ' sorry.'
No that won't work because he may not realize that he hurt me. There's only one answer:I must talk with him about the hurt.I will speak honestly, and also respectfully."
That evening when she and Abel were alone,Ruth said softly,"Dear,I think I should let you know that your words this hurt me.
In fact, I've felt hurt All day.Now I feel ashamed for letting such a small thing bother me so much."
After Abel apologized,they were able to communicate and enjoy their evening together.If Ruth had tried to hide the hurt, what kind of evening and bed time would they have had?
The experience of Luke and Priscilla when the were newly married! When Luke and Priscilla got married they were communicating very well.
Both of them had the feeling," What joy.... Just to speak with each other freely about everything!"
Then their children were born. Soon Priscilla was busy caring for the kids.Luke was busy earning money for them.
And they began to neglect their communication with each other. So their friendship cooled. Now their marriage is nothing more than sharing a house and raising kids.
That kind of marriage is boring. To make marriage romantic, the husband must not become so busy earning money that he fails to communicate with his wife and the wife must not get so busy as a mother that she neglect communicating with her husband.

Fear!
It's a sad fact that some husbands make their wives fear them.
Fear destroys communication.God said a wife must " submit to her husband, but not " fear" him.
Wives, submit to your husband's.according to Ephesians.5:22
There is no fear in love.Love removes Fear. 1 John.4:18.
So in this level husband and wife open the door of our heart, allowing our marriage partner to see and know our feelings.
Example, concerning Stephen and his wife, Stephen told his wife," Today my brother got angry and shouted at me.And my father supported him."
Then Stephen and his wife discussed how this problem could be solved.
After that his wife asked," But how do you feel now?"
Stephen replied," I feel worried.I fear that our family relationships will decline. I also feel hurt because...."
If you look at this picture you will see what is happening.
Adam and his wife Eve are being put out of the beautiful garden of Eden.Do know why?
It is because they did something very bad. And so God Jehovah is punishing them.
What is the bad thing Adam and Eve did? They did something Good told them not to do.God told them they could eat food from the trees of the garden.
But from one tree God said not to eat,or else they would die. He kept that tree as his own.
And we know it is wrong to take something that belongs to someone else, don't we? What happened now?
One day when Eve was alone in the garden,a snack spoke to her. Think of that! It told Eve to eat fruit from the tree from which God told them not to eat. Now, when God made snacks he did not make them so they could talk.
So this can only mean that someone else was making the snack to speak.Who was that?
It wasn't Adam.So it had to be one of the persons that God had made long before he made the earth.
Those persons are angels, and we cannot see them.this one Angel had become very proud.He began thinking that he should be a ruler like God.
And he wanted people to obey him instead of obeying Jehovah God. He was the angel that made the snack talk.
This angel was able to convince Eve.When he told her that she would become like God if she ate the fruit, she believed it. So she ate, and Adam did too.Adam and Eve disobeyed God, and that is why they lost their beautiful garden home.

The second level of communication is talking about us: our money, our children, our relatives, our plans for the future... For example, a husband can discuss with his wife questions such as: What school should our children attend?
Should we ask my cousin to stay with us? Should we buy a new car?
One day Abner and Lydia were discussing about his mother.As they were discussing,they started quarreling.In that case, what should they do? They should continue talking until they reach agreement.But Abner and Lydia didn't do that. Instead, they stopped talking before reaching agreement.
And after that they thought, " To avoid another quarrel, we must never talk about 'his mother."
Later they had a quarrel about ' money.' Again they stopped talking before reaching agreement.So, they had to begin avoiding that topic too.
After some years they had many topics which they couldn't mentioned to each other.
That killed their communication.
Husband and wife should not allow quarrels to kill their communication.Instead, let's discuss each subject in a kind way. And if we begin to quarrel, let's continue talking kindly until we agreed on a decision.
Precolonial Era!
In 19th century Bronzes was found at the town of Igbo-Ukwu are created.
Then in 10th century, Nri Kingdom begins.
11th century Borno was established as an Islamic States.
Reaching 15th century Hausa Kingdoms in the north was established as nominally Muslim States.
1472- Portuguese navigators reach Nigerian coast.
Then early 19th century Sokoto Caliphate went to war with the Yoruba States.
Middle to late 19th century, Christian Missionary activity began in Southern Nigeria.
They are the first man and woman.Who made them?
It was Good.Do you know his name? It is Jehovah. And the man and woman came to be called Adam and Eve.
This is how God made Adam.He took some dust from the ground and with it he formed a perfect body,a man's body.Then he blew into the man's nose, and Adam came to life.
God had a job for Adam.He told Adam to name all the different kinds of animals.Adam may have watched the animals for a long time so he could pick the best names for them all.
While Adam was naming the animals he began to see something.Do you know what that was?
The animals all of them had mate. There were papa elephants and mama elephants, and there were papa Lions and mama Lions . But Adam had no one to be his mate.So God made Adam to fall into a deep sleep, and he took a rib bone from his side.
Using this rib, Jehovah God made a woman for Adam, and she became his wife.
How happy Adam was now! And think how happy Eve must have been to put in such a beautiful garden to live.
Whenever Joe has problem,he will say to himself, " I won't tell my wife how discouraged I feel today.
I'm a man.My wife must not think that I can't handle my problems."
It's not good for a man to be alone.according to Genesis 2:18.
A man and wife are no longer two.They are one. According to Mathew 19:6.
What are the Barriers to communication?
In Europe, Asia, Africa, America and everywhere else, many couples fail to communicate.Why? Because they allow barriers to stop their communication; barriers such as 'fear,' 'too busy,' and so on.
Let's talk about Fear!
It's a sad that some husbands make their wives fear them. Fear use to destroy communication.God says a wife must " Submit" to her husband, but not " FEAR" him.

Too Busy!
For Example : Dan and his wife.
Dan says, " My wife and I are so busy with our jobs and with church,we have no time to communicate." I advised you to take time to communicate,no matter what.
Don't be overly busy.Eliminate some of your activities.And find ways to serve God together.
Not Listening!
Another barrier to communicate is failure to listen.Sometimes when Carol is speaking,I think of something I want to say.
As she is talking, I'm waiting for a chance to tell her my great idea. But while I'm waiting, I'm not listening.
Or sometimes when she is talking,I see that she is mistaken about some small point. While she is Speaking, I'm planning the words I will use to correct her.
But while I'm planning, I'm not listening.
Whenever Carol is speaking, I should focus my mind on her. I should really listen.Then, If I'm still not sure what she means, I should ask, "Are you saying.....or do you mean.......?"
So each time your husband/ wife communicate with you you have to be careful to listen. Not listening kills communication.
In this level we open the door of our heart,in order to allow our marriage partner to see and know our feelings.
This an example of married couples, one day Stephen told his wife, " Today my brother got angry and shouted at me.And my father supported him."
Then Stephen and his wife discussed how this problem could be solved.After that his Wife asked, "But how do you feel now?' Stephen replied, "I feel worried. I fear that our family relationships will decline. I also feel hurt because.our joys are doubled because the happiness of one becomes the happiness of the order.
And our burdens are cut in half since we share the load.

The Sixth Coup was 27 August 1985, That was when General Ibrahim Babangida led a palace coup which terminated the Buhari's 20 months reign.
The Seventh Coup was in 1986, That was when Major- General Mamman Vatsa led an abortive coup to overthrown the government of President Babangida.That same year,he and other 10 military officers were tried and wre executed in March 1986.
The Eight Coup was in 22 April 1990, That was when Gideon Orka stage an abortive coup to unseat the government of Ibrahim Babangida.
First Military Coup was on January 15,1966, Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu led the first ever- Military Coup in Nigeria that let to the death of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and premier of Northern Nigeria, Chief S.I Akintola, the premier of Western Region,Sir Abubakar Tafawa Belewa, the Prime Minister of Nigeria, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, Federal Minister of Finance and other Military officers.
The Second Coup was on 29th July, 1966, Six months after the first coup plot,three young military officers of Northern background led by Lieutenant Colonel Murtala Muhammad staged a counter coup to even the score.
This led to the death of Major General J.T.U. Aguyi Ironsi, Head of State,Cool. Francis Adekunle Fajuyi Military Governor, Western region and other military officers. General Yakubu Gowon was then sworn in as the military Head of State.
The third Coup was in July 1975- A group of Colonel sacked the Government of Genery Yakubu Gowon in a bloodlesycoup.

Look at the earth here! How pretty everything is! Look at the grass and the trees, the flowers and all the animals.
Can you pick out the elephant and the Lions?
How did this beautiful garden come to be? Well, let's see how God got the earth ready for us.. First,God made green grass to cover the land.and he made all kinds of small plants and bushes and trees.
These growing things help to make the earth pretty.But they do more than that.Many of them also give us foods that taste very good. God later made fish to swim in the water and birds to fly in the sky.
God also made dogs and cats and horses; big animals and small animals.What animals live near your home? Shouldn't we be glad that God made all these things for us.
